It all started in 1997 when someone placed a cowbell and stick into my hands in the Ministry of Sound... there my love affair with percussion began and I bought my first Djembe two years later.  I studied in London drum circles and joined a festival band and for several years spent the summers playing at Glastonbury, Buddhafields, The Big Green Gathering, Earthspirit, Small World and Tribal Earth. In 2004 I spent a few months in Cuba studying Latin percussion and on my return joined Martha Tilston and the Woods, touring in the UK and playing many festivals and gigs for a fantastic five years.  Around the same time I met Nikki Slade and began accompanying her for Kirtan which has taken me across the globe and a residency at Tri Yoga in London.  In 2010 I met Tim Broughton and founded aLive, playing live music for 5Rhythms dance, playing for special events and at dance camps.  I still love percussion but the last few years have seen me develop my guitar playing which I use with aLive, Mundo Gira, at Kirtan with Bhavana and Sivani Mata and with Bread and Fish.

"Mark Fisher is a muscian and human being of extraordinary grace and sensitivity. It is always such a pleasure to work with him when I offer my Movement Medicine workshops. A beautiful alchemy and intuitive co-creative dance always unfolds. As a facililator, my work is gifted a deeper dimension, as a dancer the musical medicine he offers is a nourishing tonic for the soul."
